Today I had a candy cane party for my family. For the food we had white chocolate candy cane cupcakes, red striped finger sandwiches, and punch. For the activities we did a candy cane hunt, candy cane spoons, Christmas tongue twisters, and pictures with Santa. Sage was Santa. For the decorations, I will post pictures later.
White Chocolate Candy Cane cupcakes yield 9
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 2/3 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup candy cane kisses
1/2 cup + 1tsp. + 1/2 tsp. milk
Preheat oven to 325.
- Chop kisses, put in a bowl, and set aside.
- Beat eggs and sugar with electric mixer.
- Add butter, and mix.
- Pour milk into the bowl with the chopped kisses.
- Heat in microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir half way through.
- Add to the egg mixture, and blend.
- In a separate bowl whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the rest.
- Put in baking cups and bake for 20 minutes,or until a toothpick comes out clean.
White chocolate candy cane buttercream
3/4 cup candy cane kisses chopped
1/4 cup whipping cream
1 cup butter cut in pieces
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1. Microwave kisses and cream in a bowl for 1 1/2 minutes, or until when stirred chocolate is melted
2. Cool for a few minutes.
3. Beat butter and sugar into the kiss mixture until fluffy.
